Plagiarism: Using someone else’s ideas, methods, data, or works as if they were their own, without citing scientific guidelines.
3rd Article
Admission to graduate programs is based on the results of the Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam (ALES) as well as previous academic success at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. With the exception of non-thesis programs, prospective students must have a sufficient command of the foreign language. The University Senate selects what master’s degree and doctoral degree programs can be applied by graduates of undergraduate or graduate education programs, based on a proposal by the Board of the individual Graduate School.
4th Article
On the proposal of the relevant Departmental Board of the Graduate School and with the approval of the Graduate School Executive Board, those who are students or graduates of higher education institutions and want to enhance their knowledge on a particular subject may be permitted to attend graduate courses under special student status. Accepting unique pupils does not require a grade level or an entrance exam. Special students are subject to the same rules as ordinary University students, and they must meet all of the requirements of the courses they are enrolled in. Special students, on the other hand, are not considered University students and are not entitled to the same rights as other students.
5th Article
Through lateral transfer, successful students can be accepted to graduate programs after completing at least one semester in another Graduate School or Department within the relevant higher education institution or in a graduate program at another higher education institution. The Graduate School Executive Board examines and concludes conformity with the Senate’s acceptance requirements after receiving the favorable and reasoned judgment of the respective Department regarding the application for admission by lateral transfer. The courses studied at the prior educational institution can only be accepted at a rate of 2/3 for students admitted through lateral transfer.
6th Article
The review of applications for admission to master’s and doctorate programs and an interview are carried out by juries consisting of at least three members selected by the Board of the Graduate School from the faculty members submitted by each Department of the relevant Graduate School. The jury ranks the prospective students and creates a shortlist from which a final decision is made, taking into account the criteria established in paragraphs (a), (b), and (c) of Article 4 of this Regulation. The jury delivers the shortlist to the individual Graduate School by identifying what graduate program each prospective student to be put in accordance with the quota.
7th Article
Starting from the period in which the courses for the registered program are provided, the Master’s program with thesis must after at least three semesters and should be completed in no more than six semesters. Students who begin their thesis studies in the third semester will be able to complete their master’s program with thesis before the maximum time limit. The student who completed his or her credit courses and seminar course in the first three semesters but was unable to defend his or her thesis because he or she could not complete his or her thesis study in six semesters may be granted at most two additional semesters to defend his or her thesis in front of the jury with the approval of the Graduate School Executive Board.
